What is a Doula?

One of the tradtional healing arts, Doula means "with women." From the beginning of time, women have always attended each other during childbirth.

Today, Doulas serve as one of the childbirth assistant professions that provide one-on-one physical and emotional support for pregnant women and their partners. Doulas are not medical professionals. They have a unique perspective on the birthing process because they are present at birth primarily to attend "mom."
