Weaving A Cultural Perspective of the Four Pillars through the Practice of Yoga – Apr. 3, 2025

Thursday, April 3, 2025
7- 8 pm
Virtual Event
Join authors Charlene Muhammad and Marilyn Peppers-Citizen for an engaging conversation on
how yoga can provide a foundation for supporting overall health and wellness in the Black
community, and how it aligns seamlessly with the 4 Pillars of Alzheimer’s Prevention: diet and
supplements, stress management, exercise, and spiritual fitness. Drawing on insights from their
book, Yoga in the Black Community, as well as longstanding cultural healing traditions, they will
share strategies for incorporating accessible yoga, mindful breathwork, and lifestyle-based
practices that promote brain longevity. Moderated by Denyse LeFever, BLTT graduate and
advocate for holistic health, this session will offer a tapestry of resources to foster resilience,
strengthen community connections, and emphasize inclusive practices for long-term well-being.
