Although all yoga is potentially therapeutic and healing, IAYT-certified yoga therapists specifically apply yoga tools—postures/exercises, breathwork, meditation techniques, and more—to address an individual‘s physical, mental, and emotional needs. Many people first learn about yoga through its physical practices, and a common misconception is that the discipline is all about stretching or movement. In fact, yoga therapy can help people who can’t move at all, as well as active individuals!


As a clinical-based healing practice, our goal is to support optimal health and nutrition. We provide complementary herbal medicine & nutritional consultations, private and group Yoga instruction and health promotion activities like lectures and workshops to a variety of clients with a host of health concerns and lifestyle goals. With proper nutritional, movement (yoga) and lifestyle changes, our clients reach and maintain their health goals.

Yoga Therapy 60-minute consultation

Charlene’s yoga therapy begins by gathering information about your past health history, review of your lifestyle factors such as diet and movement and a discussion about your current health concerns.  Together, we establish a goal for your future health.

An individualized therapeutic Hatha yoga practice/protocol is designed for you that focus on the principles of physical alignment and strategies for pain relief. As a practicing herbalist and certified nutrition specialist, Charlene may also offer dietary and supplement strategies in addition to the individualized yoga practice.

Nutrition/ Herbal Consultation - 90-minute consultation

Urbanherbalist is willing to work with your current healthcare provider or as directed by your specific needs.

Wellness consultations usually take about 90 minutes. During that time, our health practitioner gathers information about your past health history, reviews lifestyle factors such as diet and exercise, discusses your current health concerns and set goals for your future health. Herbal strategies may be recommended at that time. We also recommend that our clients have two to three follow up sessions in which we track health status goals.
